Flybrid Systems are delighted to report that the first road vehicle fitted with a Flybrid high-speed flywheel has successfully driven on the test track. The client and vehicle have to remain confidential but nevertheless it marks a historic moment for the company.

After stepping out of the test vehicle and with the flywheel still spinning at over 35,000 RPM Flybrid Managing Partner Jon Hilton said "why do these things always have to happen on a freezing cold day on a bleak test track in the middle of nowhere!"

This first test is just the start of a long engineering process to calibrate the vehicle control system and achieve the vehicle targets of drivability and fuel consumption reduction. The vehicle will remain on test over the coming months and it is expected that a lot of valuable information will be gained.
