10th, 11th, 12th, 13th July 2008 IMechE Formula Student at Silverstone Circuit Flybrid Systems are official sponsors of Formula Student 2008 and are specifically supporting the all new Class 1(A) for alternatively powered vehicles. This promises to be a very exciting event which will see electric, hydrogen and bio fuel powered cars compete directly with their petrol engined equivalents. Jon Hilton has been Chief Judge of the Formula Student competition since 2006 and firmly believes that this great IMechE initiative improves the education of all those that take part by exposing them to a real world project with time, money and resource limitations. Admission is normally free - please check with the IMechE with regard to any access restrictions.
11th, 12th, 13th, July 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed - Goodwood, UK Flybrid Systems will be present on the IMechE stand at the 2008 GFoS. On display will be a full Flybrid Formula One system and present for much of each day will be one our young engineers who will be able to talk enthusiastically about hybrid systems and about being an engineer.
4th, 5th, 6th November 2008 Optimising Powertrains Conference - San Antonio, Texas Jon Hilton will present on the subject of 'Flywheel Based Hybrid Systems' on Day 3 (6th November) of this prestigious conference organised by the SAE. This will be Flybrid's first public presentation in the US.
11th, 12th 13th November 2008 Professional MotorSport World Expo - Cologne Flybrid Systems will be exhibiting at the PMW Expo in Cologne, Germany, on stand UK14. On display will be a complete development system and several key components including a flywheel. The stand will be manned by Flybrid engineers, including at least one fluent German speaker, who will be able to answer questions and discuss particular applications in detail.
8th, 9th January 2009 Autosport International Exhibition - NEC, Birmingham, UK Flybrid Systems will be exhibiting at the Autosport International show in the Engineering section. On display will be a range of the latest systems and components. The stand will be manned by Flybrid engineers who will be able to answer questions and discuss particular applications in detail. Entry is free to members of the motorsport trade and MSA competition license holders.
21st January 2009 IMechE AD Essex Centre Lecture - Venue TBA, Essex, UK Jon Hilton will present an evening lecture on the subject of 'Flywheel Based Hybrid Systems' to an audience invited by the Essex Automobile Division Centre of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. The event is free and open to non members.
